Laggan Bay Distillery is the 11th whisky distillery on the iconic island of Islay, established by Ian Macleod Distillers. The brand identity needed to reflect the rich heritage and prestige of Islay whisky making but also convey the progressive vision of the distillery – innovative, sustainable practice.
The identity reflects its location in Laggan Bay: the core colour celebrates the distinctive blue from Islay’s buildings, the logomarque features a playful reference in the double-’g’ to visiting dolphins to the island. This is combined with the ‘Laggan loop’, an infinity symbol signalling their sustainable pledge and respecting the many generations of whisky makers that support Islay.
